"As the dust settles after the battle with the King of Shadows, the people of Neverwinter wait in anticipation for the triumphant return of their heroes...but they never came back. What became of their champions? Where is the Knight-Captain? Will she finally return victorious, or will she forever live on only in tavern stories?
(A what-might-have-been story post-NWN2, with some flashbacks to the OC. Be gentle, this is my first attempt!)"
100% CPU usage I wouldn't call it low-end, my dad's laptop (Toshiba M30) had that same GPU and when I ran NWN, it ran just fine at its native 1280x800 resolution. There might be a driver problem somewhere, try downgrading versions.
*Sighs* Mod won't test.... There shouldn't be a difference using F9 from the toolset or starting it up normally, so the problem can't be there (other than problems that might occur from the first PC in your character list having an invalid something).
Try loading the mod up using the dedicated nwserver and see if it crashes there too. If so, then something, probably an OnSpawn() script, is going out of control during the module's load. If not, then check your OnClientEnter() or OnEnter() script for the starting area, as it might be doing something to the player when joining.

It´s the second Release in a Series of Textures to enhance Exterior Design.
Actually this ist for Override, but will be a HAK as soon as a working Hak-Utility is available.

NWN Spotlight - Tales of the Sundering: Hub By codepoetz[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: NWN - Spotlight Hall of Fame author, codepoetz, has recently released a NWN module titled "Tales of the Sundering: Hub" which is a continuation of the prelude written by Hall of Fame author, Ben Hughes. The prelude starts with you being brought to a world you know nothing about, and find out the same phenomenon holds a dark future for both this new world and your own. This new module continues in the land of Valeron. Here's an excerpt:
Valeron is a land like any other land. It has seen great strife, many wars, and many kingdoms. It has seen many births, and many deaths. It is home to many, who have loved, hated, or been indifferent to the changes across the ages. Valeron is different in only one way, from the many other worlds in our universe. The universe is like a tree, and Valeron is at its base (or root). This does not make Valeron special, or better, or much different at all, from the other parallel worlds on the tree of life. Rather, it is a position that does not mean much at all, save for when the tree is shaken. For when the tree is shaken, a leaf is torn, or a branch is clipped, the falling fruits and nuts sometimes descend near the base. Only at such a time might one notice the difference between Valeron and other worlds. This is such a time.
Thanks to codepoetz for the contribution and Steve Savicki for the heads up. If you'd like your work in the spotlight, drop me a line.
New NWN2 1.04 HotFix Patch Released[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: NWN2 - Official News Obsidian has released an updated 1.04 patch to fix some of the more pressing issues that were released in the first 1.04 release. It's available for all languages via the update button when you first start the game. Here's some more comments from Obsidian Assistant Producer, Nathaniel Chapman.
Nathaniel Chapman - Assistant Producer, Obsidian Entertainment -
A hotfix for 1.04 (version 1.04.870) has been released for all languages. It addresses the following two toolset issues:
1) Copying and pasting waypoints will no longer crash the toolset.
2) Helmets will no longer improperly show up as feathered hats in the toolset.
We are taking the list of additional issues you all have posted in this forum into consideration for future patches. Please continue to post any issues you are having with 1.04 in the appropriate threads so that we can investigate and hopefully fix them.
Thanks!
More: We have taken down the European language patches while we identify the issue that is causing the toolset to show up in English. If you are encounterting this issue and would like to revert to 1.04.860, you will need to reinstall and re-run the updater in the meantime.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
More: : Hello everyone. The issue with the European patches has been resolved and they are available again for everyone to get.
For one of the previous posters, it is not so much that we are defending the choices we have made for combat animations in as much as just putting them out there and explaining why. There have been posts on this explaining that we were not happy with the way this turned out but, due to time constraints, it is what we had to release.
As far as not commenting, sometimes it is just better to remain silent. I am not going to argue over your opinions. There's no point and it would not turn this list of complaints and insults into a constructive conversation.
As far as changing the animations, I would expect we would work on the larger issues of playability and compatibility first. I am not saying that we will not change the animations or the way combat is handled, just that we have some bigger issues to deal with first.

Which means we know no more than before. A true politicians answer by rob there The day we get yes or no answers will be the day I win the lottery
I cannot commit on what I don't have a definate answer for.
I could say yes, and get your hopes up, then if something goes wrong, you will be disappointed again and we come out looking worse than before.
I could say no, then if we come out with something you would be angry because I misled you.
Also, if I said yes, the next logical thing that would happen would be a swarm of "When?". As I don't have anything concrete that would just frustrate you more.
So, see? No matter what route I take, the outcome is not good. There are few things I can say in these forums that will not be taken out of context or misinterpreted. At least with a maybe you can be hopeful.
Chat Log from the ThievesGuild.Net Chat We got started late due to some technical difficulties, so we didn't get to field as many questions as we wanted. Overall, we had a great time and hope we were able to answer some of the questions you all might have...<SNIP>
Thanks! Although I do feel that Stealth not working is more important than hats "Characters in Stealth are still targetable as a black shaded character. In multiplayer other PC's can see you even when failing the check! They just target your shaded black walking figure!"
I think we all agree on that. This is merely a hotfix for what the patch broke.
The schedule as to when things get fixed is a question of resources and difficulty. We aim to have certain fixes in certain patches, but sometimes the fixes are more difficult that expected.
We are working on the stealth issue and hopefully will have a fix in a patch soon.

I'm having a problem with exporting a model from GMax to NWN .mdl format. It's a shame too because my models are really cool. I have no problem importing them into GMax using NWMax but I can't get GMax to convert them back to their original form. Can someone please help?
Chris forwarded your PM to me, and you didn't mention that you were trying to save them as a NWN .MDL from gMax's Save As...
You need to select the AuroraBase of the model and hit the Export button. It will default to exporting to the Export path set in gMax's Preferences, so it would be a good idea to set it to your c:\games\nwn\override\ folder to cut time down when previewing your model.
Polymorph self? trie others I already told you how, they use NWScript and the SetCreatureAppearance() function to change it, and in your case, they also scripted it so it automatically unequips all your stuff.
And by the looks of it, you're playing on a servervault PW and thus you have to rely on the DMs and administrators to do the changing, as anything you put locally won't affect what they have stored.

Featured Artwork[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: Featured Artwork - Site Features We have a new piece of artwork to share with you today titled Rangers by rubberducky78. Here is the description:"Inspired by my ranger PC from NWN. It's more or less a composite of two paintings, due to some early mistakes, and the fact that I initially couldn't decide what sort of setting I wanted the rangers in. I put them on a white background until I came up with one I liked, then added them in and did all the detail work after. Started from scanned color sketches, then finished with Photoshop and an old ArcSoft application. Very labor intensive..." Thanks for the submission rubberducky78.
