Print News | Mail News | Category: Site News
We kicked off the week with our latest Monthly Wallpaper. If you're looking for wallpapers or desktop calendars, we have a sizable collectionof them in our Wallpaper section.

On Tuesday, we got wind of a contest over at EVE Underground Radio. Make sure you tune into the Sunday Hangout at 16:00GMT on Sunday February 11,2007 for your chance to win one of two EVE-CCG starter packs!

Speaking of contests, the "EVE Rocks" contest has drawn to a close and the entries are being judged this week. Watch for the list of winners early next week! Until then, check out the full collection of submissions in the "EVE Rocks" Entry Gallery.

Caledric recently joined the EVE Vault team, and has started a new feature entitled Yaaar! A Pirate's Blog - tales of vilany and piracy... with pictures! :) Speaking of which, he's also added a few screenshots to our library as well: Wrong direction for a cargo ship!; Approaching the jump gate; Warping; Upclose look at a Ferox; Warping back to safety; Leaving the station

BadGoat has taken over the Screenshot of the Week, and this week he brings us a Badger in dire straits. If you've a screenshot that you'd like showcased, Send it in!

And I know I spend a couple weekly recaps doing the whole "Soon(tm)" thing about guides, but we really really do have some coming! *glances hopefully over to his team* Right, guys?

:) Have a great weekend, all!

An update from CM Kieron was posted on the EVE-O boards
"Our goal is to provide the best possible game, gaming experience and development process possible. In light of that, we would like to address the recent allegations of CCP employee misconduct. CCP has taken these charges very seriously and since they surfaced we have launched a thorough investigation consisting of an examination of character histories ranging back to their creation as well as into any connected characters owned by the developers involved..."

For facts, tinfoil hats, new information, and grand conspiracies you can visit our thread in progress on the matter here.

This Week in EVE News...  [ Comment ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Site News
This was a busy week for the EVE community, as we have porgrams, politics and posts that impacted us on several fronts.

    Something departs, something arrives...

At the tail end of last week, Veritas Immortalis released an Official Announcement of their disbanding. The announcement came the same day that many of us received our new copy of E-ON #6. As usual, Fanfest info, walking in stations and other upcoming changes, and alliance profiles are some of the game info and community news you can expect in this issue.

    Utilities and Tools

EVEMon Version 1.1.8.571 was made available earlier this week with an extensive list of new features and changes. Visit evemon.battleclinic.com for the latest download plus full list of changes in this release.

Eradiani's Mineral Calculator Version 1.0 is now hosted at EVEVault! Features include refining rates, compound calculations, loading/saving characters, and on-the-fly saves of your changes. Download it here.

EVE-Radio.com announced the launch of its 8Mbps Unlimited Broadband product, a service specifically designed with EVE Online gamers and EVE-Radio listeners in mind. They've also got a commercial running for our contest. Yes, we're down to the last few days of...

    THE "EVE ONLINE ROCKS" CONTEST

CCP Devs Doing Wrong? Hot Topic of the Week  [ 1 Comment ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: EVE: Online News
Join the Eve Vault Forum discussion on the recent allegations of developer misconduct in Eve. It has been reported that a dev (or devs?) have be helping some of the alliances in the game by either divulging valuable information to them or by directly handing over T2 BPO's to the players. If these allegations are true, a lot of CCP's credibility will go down the proverbial black hole. Join the thread and let us know what you think.

Design A Logo For Eve-Central Win ISK  [ Comment ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: EVE: Online News
Eve-Central is having a contest to design them a new logo for their website...
"Design a Logo for EVE-Central.com! Win 50Mil ISK!. We need a logo. That station picture shamelessly borrowed from the EVE webpages is getting somewhat old. Send me a logo or even a new design for the EVE-Central.com website by Febuary 10th, 2007 and I will place them up in a gallery allowing people to vote on their favorite.

The winner gets fame and 50mil ISK. The logo must also work and look good in the In Game Browser. No specific size requirements or color schemes, but if you're not prepared to give me a new color scheme for the main pages, your logo better look good in the current layout ;). Send the logo in a web-ready format, and a screenshot of any new web design. It would be nice to also have a source image (such as a .PSD file or vector file). New website designs need not be totally IGB compliant as our current bare-bones pages will work just fine for that, but it must work in both IE and Firefox.

Send them to atrus [at] stackworks.net or Kaladr in game."

      Eradiani's Mineral Calculator Version 1.0  [ 12 Comments ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Site News
We are proud to release the first version of Eradiani's Mineral Calculator. You can find it here!!!

    Some of the Features include.

    1) perfect refine rates based on your skills and even exact station tax rates. (I have tested countless scenarios and everything seems to work - if it doesn't forward me information).
    2) character saving on the fly (by default you make a change to the character skills and it will save it to the root directory upon exit) - this saves the mineral prices too!
    3) loading of auto saved character - why put your character's skills in more than once?
    4) optional character saving - can save individual characters to any location to be loaded later
    5) loading of character sheets from Eve-Mon and the Eve-O websites
    6) saving an operation - you can save all of the ore/compounds mined in an operation, the number of people there, and more to be loaded as needed.

The program requires the .net framework.

ForceFeedback CCP Interview  [ Comment ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: EVE: Online News
ForceFeedback has posted a fairly lengthy Q&A; session they recently had with CCP. Some of the topics discussed ranged from what we might see from White Wolf in the near future to walking in stations...
"FFB: How do you plan to make the walking in stations feature a significant part of the game, instead of just a gimmick?

CCP: The vision we have for the in-station atmosphere is to initially create a purely social hub where players can engage in non-combat activities. While we have some ideas that were working toward, were also very interested to know what the players themselves feel would be points of interest or venues they would like to see there, so were keeping an eye out for that sort of feedback as we move toward introducing this feature. One aspect of walking in stations that could really add immersion is the Corporate War Room where corporation members can all gather and view a shared 3D map and discuss strategy."
Check out the full Q&A; at ForceFeedback.
