Our topic this week is Online Resources. Most fan sites including us here at the Vault offer databases, guides and other online resources that can offer you the upper hand when leveling your character or completing a quest.
Judging by the number of submissions in the two databases we recently updated a lot of you use them. What do you find useful? Please let us know in our latest topic of the week.
The next FINAL FANTASY XI version update is scheduled to take place in early March.
We are currently working on implementing the long-awaited chocobo racing system, as well as new missions, quests, monsters, Assault areas, and more! Along with various system additions and improvements, we will also be raising the maximum level of the beastman armies in Besieged.
Further version update details will be released in an upcoming Topics article. Stay tuned!
No Final Fantasy XI For Wii[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: News PalGN has run a story about FFXI on the Wii. In an interview director Hiromichi Tanaka confirmed that the reason the Wii could not handle FFXI was because of the Nintendo Friend Codes.
The article also states that Square is in negotiations with Nintendo about using their online structure without the use of friend codes. A port of FFXI could be in the new console's future if this hurdle can be overcome.
Hiromichi Tanaka revealed that the Wii hardware wouldnt be able to cope with Final Fantasy XI, clarifying that the main problem lies within Nintendos current online stance, where you are unable to interact with other players without the aid of friend codes. However, Tanaka was quick to point out that the company is currently in negotiations with Nintendo to resolve the pain of using friend codes.

Lets face it, folks. Weve all died at least once or twice in the world of Vana Diel. Whether its an unlucky amount of mobs with aggro around you, or its a bold move of yours that doesnt turn out right, its a frustrating event. Ive found that more times than not, deaths are the product of poor preparation. That is why I have come up with this guide on proper preparation.
Got it running! Just copy a fully updated Playonline folder from a computer with a previous version of Windows into your Vista installation of FFXI. Recreate your profile (so it doesn't forget your password each time), and let it update forever (it'll want to check all of your files).
I just dug up dragon meat playing Chocobo Hot & Cold on my Vista machine. I've run into no quirks. XP Compatibility Mode isn't even enabled.
