N-Query

Weekend edition. Get it while it's hot.

The Same?

I was reading your article on Timesplitters 3 and only just noticed the name David Doak. Since the team of Free Radical have a few Rare employees, it triggered the thought of playing the second mission in Goldeneye for the 64. In one of the difficulties, you have to contact a "Dr Doak" to get a door decoder. Out of curiosity, are they one and the same?

Matt responds: The very same, yes.

Konga

Great site. Quick question, are the other Donkey Kongas coming to US? I truly enjoyed the first one, especially with my friends but it is getting old. I hope there is more, it will be very stupid to release one accessory and only one game to support it. Thanks for your time.

Matt responds: Nintendo already released Donkey Konga 2 in Japan and a third was recently announced, but we do not yet know if these sequels are destined for a US release. I expect that they will be, but obviously not until sometime next year. Meanwhile, don't forget about the most compelling reason to own a set of DK Bongos: Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. The amazing platformer utilizes the DK Bongos for full control. You bang on the left and right drums to move, to fight, and to platform. It sounds completely crazy but it is executed so well that it's downright addictive. DK Jungle Beat ships in the US next March.

Viewtiful Guide

When will we see a Viewtiful Joe 2 guide? This is a pretty tough game, and honestly I need some help.

Matt responds: We actually posted it today. Click here.

Mario Baseball

Any news on the Mario Baseball game that just had some screenshots posted? I couldn't find information about it anywhere, or a scheduled release date in the release dates section.

Matt responds: It's supposedly co-developed by Namco, but so far Nintendo of America has been completely unable to dig up any more information about the game for us. The screenshots sort of came out of left field… get it? LOLOLL11O1L1!!!!!1HAHAHAAHA! And so on.

Zelda Release

Of course, this is about legend of zelda gamecube. On gamestop.com, the release date listed says its coming out 3-1-05...yet on ebgames.com its listed as 6-1-05. Im sure im not the only one that has asked this question, but when do u think the game is coming out? Thanks

Matt responds: Just about anything I say at this point would be pure speculation, as Nintendo has not announced an official release date for the game. We only know for certain that it's coming sometime next year. That said, Nintendo did state that the new Zelda would be playable for the first time at next May's E3 event, which obviously means that GameStop's March release date for the game is incorrect. I have big doubts about EB's date, too. My feeling is that Nintendo will release the new Zelda sometime during the holiday season of 2005 -- likely in November, if I had to guess.
