Xbox Announces 'Significant' Restructure Starting With 3,200 Layoffs - IGN Daily Fix

1週間, 2日 - In today's Daily Fix:Xbox boss Asha Sharma sent an email to employees announcing a 'significant' restructuring of the company, citing losing "64 cents for every dollar invested" in their studios in an average year. Unfortunately 3,200 employees will be laid off, starting with 1,600 today and the rest to happen throughout Fiscal year 2027. Microsoft-owned studioss Double Fine and Compulsion Games will become independent studios, while others such as Ninja Theory and Undead Labs "have entered terms to join new ownership." Arkane Studios' management will enter into consultation with its workers council on next steps. No publicly-announced games are said to be cancelled as part of the reductions in workforce. In other news, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been blocked in 132 countries, likely due to Sony's PSN requirements, and PSN being blocked in specific territories. And finally, DC Studios' Supergirl has crossed $100 million at the global box office in its second week, and will likely not recoup its reported $170 million production budget (which does not include the massive marketing spend).

Microsoft Reportedly "Pulling Back" Development on Xbox Handheld - IGN Daily Fix

1年, 1ヶ月 - In today's Daily Fix:A report from Windows Central claims that Microsoft might be rethinking its handheld strategy and pulling back development on a first-party Xbox handheld. With the Xbox Showcase slated for next Sunday, we might learn more soon. In other news, Ubisoft might be teasing something related to Splinter Cell, after tweeting an image from the third game, Chaos Theory. Microsoft Leaks Xbox UI Mockup for Steam Tab - IGN Daily Fix

1年, 3ヶ月 - In today's Daily Fix:Microsoft may have accidentally leaked a mockup of how the Steam UI would look on Xbox. Via the Verge, the image was taken down soon after, but this adds more speculation to Microsoft's future Xbox plans and possible integration with Steam, Epic Games Store, and more. In other news, Assassin's Creed Shadows is topping the charts after just one day since being released. According to Ubisoft, the game has seen 1 million players across all available platforms. Of course, sales data is not yet available, but the game is also riding high off strong critic and user reviews. Xbox Series X Pro Mid-Gen Upgrade Is Unnecessary, According to Xbox - IGN Daily Fix

1年, 8ヶ月 - In today's Daily Fix: Xbox's Phil Spencer isn't sold on making a mid-generation "pro" version of the Xbox Series X. Speaking with Rolling Stone, he doesn't think the upgrades would be worth it, especially for the price you'd pay. Currently the PS5 Pro is the most powerful gaming console available, but you're paying an eye-watering $700 for it. However, Xbox is working on a handheld, but Spencer also said to not expect one of those for a few years. In other news, Blizzard is staffing up for what appears to be an open-world shooter that could be set in the StarCraft universe. If you're old enough to remember, this isn't the first StarCraft shooter Blizzard has attempted: StarCraft Ghost was stuck in development hell and then eventually cancelled back in the PS2/GameCube era. And finally, Obsidian's highly-anticipated RPG, Avowed, can be purchased for the low low price of around 5 World of Warcraft tokens. Each token is worth about 1.3 million in in-game gold, so the base version of Avowed will set you back 6.5 million gold.
