Did a defining moment in your childhood shape your career today? For Hugh Evans, the journey to becoming the CEO and co-founder of Global Citizen started in his teens. “ When I was 14-years-old, I went to the Philippines and there was one night in the Philippines that changed my life forever,” says Evans. He came face-to-face with the realities of living in extreme poverty and that experience sparked Evans’ lifelong mission to help eradicate it. “ Fast-forward many years later, the G7 were coming to my hometown of Melbourne, and me and my mate Dan had this idea to run a small concert to try to convince the government to increase foreign aid.” From there, Global Citizen was born.
