Finally a grass roots conference for Linux and Open Source right here in Ontario. The Ontario Linux Fest is a conference for all things Linux and Open Source.
Toronto, Ontario - 09 October 2007: Ontario Linux Fest holds its inaugural conference in Toronto, Ontario at the Toronto Congress Centre at 650 Dixon Road on Saturday, October 13, 2007.
BoFs needed? What's a BoF?
BoF is an acronym for "Birds of a Feather", a session common at conferences where people interested in a certain project, technology, movement, or other topic get together to talk about it. So what do they talk about? It depends. It could be a question and answer session if many of the people are new, or it could be a deeper discussion if the people involved are very familiar with the topic.
The sessions are casual and unstructured so it's up to the BoF members to direct the meeting. There's no presentation, no slide show, just good quality discussion.
We have selected the Toronto Congress Centre for the Ontario Linux Fest conference. The TCC is Canada's newest, largest and most innovative state-of-the-art trade and convention facility.
Toronto Congress Centre, one of the largest facilities of its kind in North America, has hosted some of the largest annual shows, events and galas in Canada.
We have a strong contingent of exhibitors whose sponsorship and attendance at the Ontario Linux Fest is welcomed and very well appreciated. Without these sponsors the event would not be possible. Please take the time to visit with each exhibitor and thank them for their support.
Is it just me or is it exciting in here?
Ontario Linux Fest is just over a week away, and the final pieces are coming together. We'll be at The Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Road, on Saturday the 13th of October for a full day of Open Source festivities.

I've just returned from Ohio LinuxFest 2007 and have to share a few things with you.
I was fortunate enough to get to address the crowd (see above) before Max Spevack's morning keynote. Thank you, Max, for allowing me that opportunity. As you can see the event was packed. You can actually "feel" the community in Ohio. I can't count the number of wonderful people that I met this year.
We have a bunch of news to cover and a ton of stuff to do right now. So here I go. This will be quick.
Here is the tentative schedule for Ontario Linux Fest 2007. This is going to be an amazing day.
