IGN.com UK have published a short MoTB movie trailer with the dulcet Narrator tones of Rodger Bumpass. (we think!) Hop on over to the site and download the trailer, but for those who simply cannot wait, here it is for your viewing pleasure. Special thanks to Kalia of WarCry.com for the heads up.
IGN.com UK has released another trailer for MoTB. This time the trailer covers new Classes & Races and is a quick 21 seconds long. You get to see the Red Wizard of Thay, Fire Genasi and another type (not sure what it is though!). Hop on over to download! We've also added the movie link in our NWN2 Movies file section here on the Vault.
For your viewing pleasure here is the MoTB Classes & Races Trailer.

So MoTB over 1.6 is fine, but over fresh install it makes bugs?
Is there any way how to solve this without need of dowload few hundred MB of patch files?
If not I realy hope you make some fix for us Euros, which will solve that issue, because having to do the whole procedure everytime when switching to new machine is kinda pain in the ***
I changed 3 or 4 machines from the day I started to play NWN1 for example
EDIT: And I also love to reinstall a lot which can cause some pain with installing aswell, especially when you are doing it in the "format c: d: e: f: g:" or FDISK way
I believe the plan is to get a patch out that will allow you to install NWN2, install MoTB then install a single patch, but I am not 100% sure.
but comments apart from a few "fanboy" types seem to be generally negative or neutral.
So, are you trying to say that if it is a good comment, it is coming from a "fanboy"?
That is the equivalent of saying negative comments only come from trolls or haters.
Just because someone has a different opinion than you, does not give you the right to insult them with the use of "fanboy" - which is obvious you are using it in a derrogatory manner.
State your opinion and disagree with others. But do not comment on other community members, and definitely do not call them names, even in passing reference. The same goes for those people that have a more positive point of view.
Im thinking I will wait about 6 months before getting this expansion. Way too many issues here. I would also ask of the devs not to be rude to their customers. Some of the replies from Rob here could get him fired if this was a person to person conversation at a store helpdesk. I for one wouldn't come back.
If I have offended anyone, I offer my sincerest apologies. It was not intended. I am hoping that you are only misinterpreting something I have said in jest, which is often the case in online communication, since, unlike face-to-face communication you cannot see a person's expressions. If you feel offended by something I have said, feel free to send me a PM on it and we will work it out.
However, I will also say that at an in-store help desk, the customer does not have the right to be rude or insulting either.
It goes both ways and, like I expect the community members to be respectful of the devs and each other, I and other devs should be respectful of you.
I definitely agree the problematic patch route should have been removed long ago.
I also agree a single 1.00 to current version should be the patch route (yes, that's how NWN1 handles it).
Do I think a critical rebuild is vital? Probably not, but would be nice to have.
However, something is fishy here when we talk about the data size of a critical rebuild. I just checked the NWN1 critical rebuild for 1.68 and it's size is 74 megs. Now, yes, NWN2 has much larger data sizes, but it's not that much bigger. NWN1 installed with all expansions is about 4.65 gigs. NWN2 installed with both expansions is about 8.8 gigs. So, how can NWN1 provide a critical rebuild patch for 4.65 gigs of data that weighs 74 megs and NWN2 can't build a critical rebuild patch for 8.8 gigs of data that's somewhere around 150 - 300 megs in size?
What's the difference?
I don't have all of the answers, but the critical rebuild for NWN2 would have to include modules as well, which are sizeable, and extra EXEs for 64bit systems.
I just did a fresh install of NWN2 on an new machine and the updater patched it to 1.09. Now, I haven't heard anything about a 1.09 patch level so what gives.
I am installing from a DVD DL version.
Any Advice?
I believe you are looking at the version of the launcher, not the game.
Sorry, there is no way to use the Tome of Profane Rebirth to become a lich.
And it's not for Brandon's lack of trying.

Rob once "defended" such by posting that it was mostly the fault of the "complainers" who posted, due to the vitrolic in their posts. Lord Sullivan blasted that post in a rebuttal, and I researched the issue myself (and it was a horrid thing, using the search option on the NWN2 forums is...it is just horrid, believe me). I must say that after all my research, though Rob does have a point about some of the vitrolic in some of the complainer posts, by far Lord Sullivan was correct - the Over-feverant Ones tend to jump on anything that remotely looks, smells, or tastes like a complaint.
Patently wrong, Mr. Webshaman.
What I have said in the past, and what I will state time and time again, is that there is just as much vitriol on the "anti-NWN2" side as there is on the "pro-NWN2" side. In fact, I believe my words were "Neither side is innocent."
I also said that there has been anti-NWN2 sentiments since before the game was released, just as there has been pro-NWN2 sentiments.
I have also said that voicing your concerns and issues in a respectful and responsible manner is very welcome and, in fact, encouraged. It's why we post the feedback threads. Vitriol and hyperbole, however, is not welcome. Insulting the devs or other community members is definitely not welcome.
But, if you post something insulting or vitriolic, do not be surprised if you are met in kind by someone with an opposing view. This is the internet.
However, and this is the important part, both transgressors will be dealt with in an equal way. I have a no tolerance rule when it comes to personal insults, but other than that, based on your forum history and how you deal with the moderators, you will be dealt with exactly the same as someone with an opposing view.
But, as always, if you have an issue with how the forums are moderated, you can contact me or Chris Priestly of Bioware.

MWM Crafting Pick Dagger Hak by MWMDragon(Weapons) - This is a Pick I made as a crafting tool for custom crafting systems. It's found in the Dagger Appearance area because daggers can be equipped by anyone so it is great for a crafting tool. Just add this file to your hak folder to have access to this ingame and in the toolset. (Idea of use: make a minable rock and set it to only give the miner Ore if they hit it with this mining pick)
MWM Candy Bucket Hak by MWMDragon(Weapons) - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! from MWMDragon A Candy bucket hak, you can find in the Stein apperance area. just put this hak into your hak directory to access it ingame or in the toolset.
German Spell Chant fix by Schatten(Other) - This little file is ment to fix a problem with the spell chants in NWN2 German Version. Therefore I'll give the description in German only.

Our last Poll asked "Do you prefer Companions or Henchmen?" and a whopping 848 people voted for Companions, whilst 106 votes were for Henchmen. So it appears that Companions win by a huge majority. Our new Poll asks Do you like the "Spirit-Eater" concept in MoTB?, and as always, we appreciate your taking the time to tell us how you feel. We'll run this Poll for a couple of weeks and then give you the results.
The Vault Network is once again very excited to announce the launching of our latest site, Tabula Rasa Vault. Please take a moment and drop by to see what is going on with this highly anticipated game crafted by MMO legend Richard Garriott.
Today we have a Neverwinter Nights 2 Module in the spotlight created by Sgt_Why. Titled "Red Hand of Doom", this module is approx 2 hours long which is a HCR, PnP conversion, Forgotten Realms Weave RP and H&S; mixture. While that might sound daunting, this module offers the player a lot of choice. Players will be able to play as Wild Elves and Ghostwise halflings, choose the next level up class for their Companions (of which there are 7, although only 3 can be used in a party at any given time) and experience a custom script which allows ambient NPCs to act out different tasks depending on the day/night cycle. This looks to be quite an adventurous module, and to top it off there are at least 3 different endings! Here's an excerpt:
The Wyrmsmoke Mountains shook with the thunder of ten thousand screaming hobgoblin warriors. From the phalanx emerged a single champion. One by one the tribes fell silent as the warlord rose up, blue scales gleaming along his shoulders, horns swept back from his head. A hundred bright yellow banners stood beneath him, each marked with a great red hand. He stood upon a precipice and raised his arms. "I am Azarr Kul, Son of the Blue Dragon!" the warlord bellowed. "Hear me! Tomorrow we march to war!"
Merchants in/near Town
* Morlin's Smithy -- weapons and metal armor
* Jarret's Sundries -- misc and black market gear
* Brother Derny -- divine potions, misc gear including leather armors (plus 3 raise dead scrolls)
* Zachan's Magics -- arcane scrolls, potions and misc magic items .. including wand of frost
* Avarthel (druid) -- divine potions, misc gear including leather armors (plus 3 raise dead scrolls)
expert crafter's available
-"Morlin the Smithy" (if dwarven) can both be convinced to join the players party, which allows the PC to craft weapons and armor.
- The halfling mage can both be convinced to join the players party, which allows the PC to craft magic related items.
- Both will leave the party upon exiting their shops.
"rescue-able NPCs"
- there are NPCs in many encounter areas that will reward the PC with XP, if you are able to save them.
"ambient" townsfolk
- they have day/night cycles now
- something I scripted up from scratch :>
- townsfolk will pick tasks to do during the daylight hours and rest at night.
Thanks for your contribution Sgt_Why. If you'd like your work in the spotlight, drop me a line.
