December Community Summit The NDA from the December C&C; 3 summit no longer applies, as you might have guessed. Lately we've seen tons of new previews and summit write-ups revealing new info. HeXetic's complete report is now up, and you can expect a video soon.
C&C3; Music: Steve Jablonsky? There's some hard evidence pointing to film-industry composer Steve Jablonsky being tasked with C&C3;'s soundtrack; have a look for yourself and then come sound off on C&C3;'s soundtrack in the forums.

C&C3; Has Branching Campaigns 10:48 PST | HeXetic | Print News | Mail News Okay, so I admit I was wrong on this one. I said in the Q&A; session on the forums that followed my Post-NDA write-up that C&C3; wouldn't feature branching campagins - branching in the sense of giving you, the player, the choice between missions. After a few people pointed out in the forums that other sources were saying there was branching, I went straight to the source and asked Predator what the deal was.
You can see the complete interchange on the forums thead, or take the executive summary right here: In C&C3;, there will be a few times where you get to pick between missions.
C&C3; Concept Art Uploaded 9:28 PST | HeXetic | Print News | Mail News I took the liberty of sifting through the C&C3; Fansite Kit released last week and picking out all the pieces of concept art that we haven't seen before. They've been uploaded to our C&C; concept art gallery and you can find all 32 new pieces on the first few pages, but here are a few of the more interesting ones:
Not all of the pics are strictly speaking new in the sense that you've never seen them before - they've been in some print magazines or appeared in smaller/modified forms, and of course if you've been to EALA like I have they're plastered all over the walls there - but I know many of you haven't seen them (especially the alien ones!) so there you go. Note that I've also scaled the pics down a bit from their ridiculous sizes and proportions, but you shouldn't notice a difference (just grab the kit if you absolutely need the original monstrous ones). There are also a lot of new screenshots in the fansite kit but as there are more and they can be a little indistinct, they're are harder to go through, so expect me to put up the new ones this weekend.
New C&C3; Logo
357 Old C&C3; Logo
1052 Classic C&C; Logo

Total votes: 2960
It wasn't even a question of who would win, it was simply a question of how badly the classic logo & old C&C3; logo would beat the curvy thing foist upon us a few months ago -- and according to your votes, the new logo loses pretty hard, being beat by an almost 3:1 ratio by the original C&C3; logo and an almost 5:1 ratio by the original classic golden.
Fat chance it'll change now, but hey, at least we bitched with pride.
Today's new poll asks you how you feel about C&C3; after having read my community summit write-up and the numerous questions I've answered in the forum thread continuation. You might notice that the pictures seem a little familiar... and one might also say they're in some kind of order of quality.
Voxel Section Editor III 1.3 14:46 PST | Dario | Print News | Mail News Over at Project Perfect Mod, Banshee has released a new veersion of Voxel Section Editor III 1.3. This utility allows you to create and edit voxels, then normalise them so they look good in-game. The new version has quite a lot of revisions and bug fixes by Banshee.
C&C3; VIP Trip Contest Ends Tonight! 18:12 PST | HeXetic | Print News | Mail News Predator wanted me to remind you all that the contest to win a free VIP trip to Electronic Arts in Los Angeles for another C&C3; Community Summit closes tonight at midnight, PST -- that's about six hours from now. All you have to do is pre-order C&C3; from EA's online delivery system, EA Link, and you'll be automatically entered in a draw to be Random Prize-Winning Schmuck #1 at a C&C3; Community Summit in March!
So, since you've all read my summit gameplay report and are now, I should think, reasonably enthusiastic about C&C3;, you might as well pre-order and get in the running to win.
Just one caveat: I know for certain that I won't be attending that one, so if you're thinking of entering in order to meet me there, you're barking up the wrong blossom tree.
Verdu/Bender Interview 20:52 PST | HeXetic | Print News | Mail News The "podcasts" all the attendees got to record at the Community Summit have now - finally - been distributed to us, and you've seen everyone else post theirs, so now here's mine. Like everyone else, I got five minutes with a couple of EA's goons - in my case, Executive Producer Mike Verdu and Lead Designer Jason Bender. The big question I ask is about the apparent shift in Tiberium from being a mutating agent into being more of a stereotypical grey-goo type of substance, but there's also a dinger about the Aliens' arrival expectations. The last question is of definite interest: Mike Verdu explicitly denied that the Aliens' briefing videos will use guys in rubber suits.
