January 8, 2007 - It looked doubtful for a second there but 2007 did arrive, intact for the most part. The PS3-induced hysteria and news of sentient Wiimotes turning on their owners had us worried, but it was the undersea quake near Taiwan, which crippled Asia's internet traffic and left many of us without workable connections to the outside world, that had us convinced humanity's collective mortal coil had at last come unwound.
