- Cure Nearsight will no longer also remove Nearsight immunity.
In 1.87a we modified the following Master Level abilities to be usable in PVE while retaining their current PVP utility: Cowering Bellow, Dissonance Trap, Battlewarder, and Energy Tempest. Based on feedback, we have removed the PVE aspect from all of the above except Cowering Bellow.
- Bainshee FAE spells will now have the proper side falloff. This fixes a Pendragon only bug which caused FAE spells to fall off from front to back.
- There will no longer be a one-second delay for characters when diving or surfacing.
- Players can now target enemies through the water. If you are above the water, either on land or swimming on the surface, you can hit players below the water.
- If you are underwater, you can only attack a player who is in or under the water.
- Enemy player names will not display if you are looking at them through the water from above the surface regardless of how close they are to you.
- You also cannot attack a no-land NPC, like a shark, who is underwater from the land. As opposed to a land NPC that happens to be underwater.
- The bonus to regeneration while standing out of combat has been greatly increased. The amount of ticks a player receives while standing has been doubled and it will now match the bonus to regeneration while sitting. Players will no longer need to sit to regenerate faster.
- While in combat, health and power regeneration ticks will happen twice as often.
- Each tick of health and power is now twice as effective.
- All health and power regeneration aids are now twice as effective.
- Fatigue now regenerates at the standing rate while moving.
- The damage type of the damage procs on Ice Storm, Polar Rift, Odin's Deathblow and Ragnarok are now Spirit. (Valkyrie Only)
- New specialty shield recipes have been added to Weaponcrafting in all three realms. These new shield recipes feature the predetermined 5th slot bonus.
- The duration of the debuff placed upon players by the Speedwarp ability has been reduced from 30 seconds to 6 seconds.
Bossiney is back and better than ever. In one of the more annoying twists of fate EVER, we were actually hugely ahead of schedule... and then our office building lost our connection to the internet, and delayed us until almost my posted estimate. Go know.
At any rate, enjoy the rest of your afternoon, Bossiney, and thank you very much for your patience as we took care of this upgrade.
On Thursday, December 14th, the Bossiney cluster is coming down for a wonderful reason - your holiday present was just delivered and you're moving to a nice new piece of hardware. (Well, pieces, since each server is actually a bunch of machines and a cluster is a bunch of bunches, but I digress.) Also, while we were preparing for this happy day, our Lord of the Underworld noticed that your Catacombs zones were not clustered as they are on all the other groups. So we're going to take care of that while we are down.
Downtime is currently estimated at 8:00 AM EST to 5:00 PM EST. A shiny new project manager is also going to be herding this process, which should help enormously with the updates. Stay tuned.
[Insert I want a new server for my cluster rant here]
Monday, December 11, from 8:00 AM EST to 3:00 PM EST (if all goes well, knock wood), the Devon cluster will be down so we can add the English-language version of Akatsuki to the cluster. As always, stay tuned for updates.
The Week in Review; Relic War Update[ 12 Comments ] Print News | Mail News | Category: Topic of the week 1.87 is looking to be off to a fine start. Bainshee nerfs, mucho Necro improvements and cloth crafting changes are great. Higher DPS damage buffs for shamans are neat too, although I think the aug line is fine already. I'd love to see some love to cave, myself. Power song on a skald is nice, as is the medium shield addition. Hopefully they get shield spec also, since no skald in their right mind fights with a 1H outside of a warden / high aura spec mauler duel. Other than that, here's what else went down:
This Week's Grab Bag[ 8 Comments ] Print News | Mail News | Category: Topic of the week Maybe not the most exciting installment in recent weeks, but Mythic posted up a new grab bag for your reading enjoyment. Topics include: activating expansions on your bot computers, +pac, champ quests in the Laby, and more.
I've just been told that the charcopier should be working properly now; it copies both the character and the character's worn inventory. We also reset the copier, so give it a try!
This was accidentally posted in the Community News section yesterday. (Eek!)
Just one note:
- (Labyrinth) Added an additional safeguard to the sanctuary rooms available for each realm. The new mechanism will instantly remove opposing realms from each realms sanctuary room in the rare chance a character inadvertently gained entry to an enemy realms remote room.
Right now, the character copier for Pendragon is fixed and running, but it is only copying characters and not their inventories. We're still working on the issue and well let you know as soon as it's fully functional. Once it is, we'll be sure to reset the copier again to allow you to test with a fully-outfitted copy. For now, though, you are more than welcome to copy a naked character over if it suits you to do so. (No pun intended!) Were very sorry for the inconvenience as we work to fix this issue.
The devs have been hard at work since the launch of LoTM, and now we bring you 1.87, with lots of long-awaited (and long-requested) changes. Check them out, and be sure to test them and send us your feedback!
Mourningstar's Musings[ 1 Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: Topic of the week We have a short column today from Mourningstar. The great tree pet of the druids was lamented when it was lost. Mourningstar shares with us his thoughts and feelings on the return of the great tree!
The Mighty Tree
Once, long ago I was the druids companion. Forever with my loving friend, we would frolic across the green and grassy fields of Hibernia. We shared our adventures, our food, our water, and our love. Of course, I was not the only companion of our druid friends. There was the kingly lynx, the voracious bear, and the loyal wolf. Together, we would protect our druids from the deadly evils that scoured our land. Then, one day without warning, the druids forgot about us.
We cried. Oh, how we cried for months. Our tears flowed down our bark and stuck like sap to our roots. We took ourselves from the world and made homes in the forests and hills that surrounded our fair land, and we waited. We waited for a time when the druids would remember their friends the trees.
Now, once again our time has arrived! The druids have remembered their long forgotten spells and incantations. Once more our roots shall split the earth and we can walk amongst the people of our home. We are ready to take up arms once again beside our brethren and stalk the prey that is like a virus on our world. The forces of Albion and Midgard shall tremble at the sight and might ofTHE MIGHTY TREE PET!
