Recently IGN got a chance to ask Denny Thorley a few questions about MechAssault. It's an excellent two page interview which touches upon several aspects of the game. Namely, the 'Mechs, the development process and the multiplayer aspects of the game.

Confusion about the release date of MechAssault has come after a recent chat session was held with Xbox Live's executive producer Jeff Henshaw. Here's the excerpt which is causing all this:

Q: Games for launch?
A: - MotorGP, Wacked!, UC, Ghost, NFL Fever 03, NFL 2k3, NBA 2K3, NHL 2K3, followed soon by Mech - Tons more after that. ARE YOU READY?

Personally I don't see how this could be intentional. In every interview that has been conducted with a member of the team at Day 1 Studios, the answer to the question "when is it gonna be out" has been November 15th alongside Live. Looking at that excerpt again, you can see that Henshaw hasn't even written the full name of the game! You can make up your own mind and read the rest of the transcript here:

Gamersweb have posted up a preview of MechAssault. It's a very favourable preview, since MechAssault is referred to as "...that may quite be the Xbox's hottest end-of-the-year title!

PlanetXbox has just posted up an interview with Day 1 Studios president, Denny Thorley. The interview reveals that there will be an all new mech in MechAssault!

Tib over at MechAslt.dxperts.ca, has managed to catch Denny Thorley on IRC. It's a pretty good interview with some very nice details about the multiplayer portion of the game.
