The big news for us here at Iron Lore this month is obviously the announcement of the Immortal Throne expansion. The team here has been cranking on the Xpack since June and we are extremely pumped about it. Despite only being an expansion it was important to us to make sure that we were adding a quality gaming experience and not just some additional items and a new skill tab.
We really focused on creating a solid story and new levels that felt fresh and exciting. We re-thought the way we were laying out regions and have created some truly unique gameplay spaces for Immortal Throne. We have created thousands of new art assets to populate the world and in my very humble opinion I think Immortal Throne is looking visually more stunning that Titan Quest.
The game itself is shaping up to be about 15 hours of gameplay per difficulty level, and has more new quests than are found in Egypt and Greece combined. PC Gamer has a great preview of Immortal Throne in their Holiday issue thats on newsstands now. If you haven't checked it out you might want to grab one while its still on the shelves.
We have a lot of new info in the pipeline that will be heading your way over the next few months - interviews, more developer diaries, screen shots, skill previews, the list goes on and on.
We also want to extend our gratitude and thanks to the Titan Quest community for all of their feedback and support in getting our first game off the ground - it was a wild and bumpy ride! All of us here at Iron Lore have read thousands of forum posts and we collected the ideas and criticisms that have been discussed on these boards and really leveraged all of that in designing Immortal Throne. Everyone on these forums has a voice and we want to thank you for using yours!
We will do our best to maintain our presence in the community in the next few months - though these will be our busiest months as we head into the holidays and start to move into the final production phase on Immortal Throne.
Keep those blades sharpened and relics handy - we are about to open the gates of hell and unleash the wrath of Hades on the ancient world!!
IT IS FINAL! Hack and Slash IS IN[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News | Category: Titan Quest We have been asking what your favorite class is to play. Many have answered and some have some pretty strong opinions, but we tried to answer the question and data doesn't lie. Though people do so hopefully no one was lying.
After a month of polls and reducing the numbers down, we have finally seen the results. TQ offers so many options and it clearly gives every gamer the ability to play they way they want.
There may have been only 1 clear winner but we recognize that there are several popular styles/combos.
#1 COMBO!
Defense/Warfare = Conqueror (3rd Poll) [152 votes]
(by a clear margin of almost 2:1 to the next most popular)
SECOND IS FOR LOSERS:
Even though Conqueror is the most popular, we saw many choose several different interesting types.
I know that this game is fun and trying different roles can be fun. Having played one type, SAGE, which sadly was not that popular, I have a keen interest in playing the Assassin now or even the Oracle, neither of which would have been a first choice.
We think you will enjoy it too, so don't limit yourself by only playing one type of character. Each style makes the game so much more different.
Let us know what you think!!!!

Question:
Best in Show! Best Class Combo showdown, Which is THE best?
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne Scheduled to Release in Early 2007[ 16 Comments ] Print News | Mail News | Category: THQ THQ Inc. today announced that Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, the first expansion to the critically acclaimed Titan Quest, is currently in development and is scheduled to release worldwide in early 2007. Titan Quest: Immortal Throne expands on the popular original property, transporting the epic story from the swamps of the Mediterranean to the depths of Hades.
"The summer release of Titan Quest marked a strong global success for THQ on both a critical and commercial level," said Bob Aniello, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, THQ. "Titan Quest: Immortal Throne will provide the large existing fan base with exciting new content."
"We're excited to continue working with THQ to provide fans with the fast-paced, story-driven gameplay that made Titan Quest a global success," said Brian Sullivan, president and lead designer, Iron Lore Entertainment. "With eight new character classes, an entirely new epic underworld to explore, and dozens of other new features, the expansion takes the game's character development and player immersion to the next level."
About Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
Developed by Iron Lore Entertainment, Titan Quest: Immortal Throne features a rich, original storyline with more than 12 hours of single-player content per difficulty level. New gameplay features include an all-new skill mastery that combines with existing masteries to form eight new playable character classes. Immortal Throne also adds dozens of terrifying new monsters, hundreds of unique weapons and an additional 10 levels of character and skill development.
Tell us about the basic storyline of Malice in Wonderland.
Basically, the story of Malice in Wonderland was a rather simple one with almost no background research, and was PinkFrogs original idea. In this mod the player will drink a potion that will alter both time and reality, and he will find himself in strange and unfamiliar places with even stranger and uncommon encounters.
This setting was just the frame in which it would be possible to bring all the different funny and weird maps together in some sort of logical sense.
The aim of that mod was not to make a story, but to test out the modding capabilities of Titan Quest as it was and with the tools we had (plus some extra tools we used to push modding further). And to try and make what was not supposed to be made for that game hehe ;)

Google Ad Help Print News | Mail News | Category: Titan Quest The Vault Network is asking the community to help us preserve our "Don't Destroy the Game" philosophy and mantra. Our parent company IGN has partnered with the good guys over at Google to run its "Google Ads" across all of IGN's sites, which includes the Vaults. With that comes the chance of Google running a gold seller-type ad that might slip by the existing filter we help set up to ensure these ads are blocked. Because we told Google that these gold farmer type ads suck and don't belong on the Vault Network. They were more than happy to work with us to keep such ads off our sites. So, we will be watching to make sure we remove any that happen to slip through and muck up our stuff!
There is a gold lining to this situation (pun intended!). We have a system in place where any community member can submit an ad they might see via a simple and easy web form. You only need to provide one of two pieces of information: Name of Ad and/or the Link for the Ad -- that's it. Click here to learn more and where to submit.
We're looking to expand our library of characters used in testing, and there is no better place to do that than to pull them out of the community!
If you have a a few minutes in your day and want to help us out, send me an email with your character attached to it. Please, we only want characters that are 'legitimate' -- that is, no mods that use relics on epic/legendary items, xp mods so that your character is *way* overleveled, etc etc.
We're especially interested in characters that are levels 30-35, characters that have completed epic difficulty, and characters that have completed legendary difficulty.
Your character can be located @
My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\SaveData\Main\ (CharacterName)
Zip or Rar that folder up, and email it over to cmccarthy AT ironlore DOT com. A short description such as "level 32 oracle", would help as well.
If you have any questions feel free to post them here.
We are looking for some volunteers with Titan Quest experience to join us for an evening of playtesting on a future product. We are located in Maynard, MA so if you live in the area and can make the trip out please drop Chooch an email at cmccarthy AT ironlore DOT com and we will see if we can schedule you in.

Wallpapers and screenshots had some new entries this week, and the armor and item databases continue to fill up. Lost Patrol Part II is in the mod section along with a neat MadMaN mod to remove the final Zeus speech and text that appears when you kill Typhoon.
