Warriors, Come Out and Play
Hi Jon,
I just wanted to say thank you for being a Warriors fan. I am the only one I know and have been one since growing up in San Jose. Every basketball game from NBA Jam to NBA Live the effort it takes to do anything with them is superhuman at best. I even have a long standing promise to all my friends should they ever make the playoffs it will be a week long party. So from one Warrior fan to another, thanks for writing a positive article about them. I'll dust off my cap with the old logo in your honor. And this year like ever year, I predict the Warriors will make the NBA finals and win.
People always ask me: "Who is your favorite team?" Whenever I say the Warriors, you should see the looks I get in response, priceless. But you know what, for some reason they are the only team I feel loyal to, and the more they lose, the more obsessed I get with how to right the ship. If you ever see my name disappear from IGN, hopefully it's for a job with the Warriors. If only I could win the lotto and buy the damn team.
Hey, Jon.
I'm a HUGE fan of the 2K series, especially this year's, so I was pretty happy to see that you've started a diary for the Association. But, I was reading through, and I couldn't help but notice that you think Patrick O'Bryant will be a bust. I was just wondering why. I played (sparingly, to be honest LOL) in the Missouri Valley for Wichita State last year and had to deal with those long arms. It was good to see him go in as a lottery pick, albeit probably a little early. I was just wondering what you knew or thought of him? Thanks a lot.
History has a tendency to repeat itself, and if history tells us anything about the Warriors and the draft, it's the fact that the team almost always makes the wrong decision. You know all about the Todd Fuller fiasco and Joe Smith, but what about the 2003 draft. The team is in desperate need of a point guard and there is a guy from the Pac 10, a guy they can see play any damn time they want on TV in the name of Luke Ridnour available. Instead, they take Pietrus, a guy who plays the same position as their best player and never develops. I met O'Bryant the other day, seemed like a cool dude and I wish him the best. But the fact that he's already injured doesn't bode well.
NHL Ratings
Plan on fixing the screw up you made on the Overalls? ALOT are different then the game, for example. Jagr is a 97, not a 95. The list goes on!
Turns out the ratings for NHL are different in the different versions of the game. What we posted are the Xbox 360 ratings, straight from EA Sports. Thing is, they have a team in Vancouver making the 360 game, and a team in Montreal making the current gen games. You would think they would share info, but the ratings ended up a little different depending on the version of the game you own.
Live Ratings
Horrible rankings, stick to making games. No way anyone would take LeBron for a clutch shot ahead of Melo or Wade, or even Ray Allen. -_-
I agree, the ratings make me think the people at EA watch more ESPN highlights than actual games, and that's a huge problem.
TNA iMPACT
I'm so glad you interviewed AJ Styles. I've been waiting for you to write about TNA (even sent countless letters begging you to do so!) and finally you got the Phenomenal One to come talk to you. Please do more TNA in the future. I would love to see wrestling recaps on the site, tell us your thoughts on the pay-per-views and such. Do you think TNA can compete with WWE?
The TNA interviews won't stop as we also have a Samoa Joe interview up as well where he talks about everything from the next pay-per-view to the upcoming videogame. Do I think TNA can compete? I think they desperately need a second hour to start, but it will take time for them to be a legitimate threat. I love their product, but these things take a while to catch on. Remember how long WCW was on top? Even when their product was terrible, it still took WWE a while before they were able to win the Monday Night Wars. Personally, I think they need to give Samoa Joe the belt and let him run with it for a while, see what he can do. Jeff Jarrett does a great job getting heat, but he doesn't need the belt to get it. Give him a side feud for a while and give someone else a shot at trying to carry the company.
