Filming hasn't started yet for AvP2 the movie, but they already
picked the lead actors. Do you know Reiko Aylesworth and Steven
Pasquale? No? Okay, they're from the show 24 and Rescue
Me on Fox and the FX Network. They're all right (details),
and the chick's pretty hot.
We might have an on-set visit sometime soon, so...stay tuned.- David Shipley

AvP2 Filming Schedule Movie News | 9/27/2006 | 15:03 PST - David Shipley
September 25th to December 6th; when filming started and when
it'll end. Basically, they started filming AvP2 last Monday
and didn't tell us, man (at least officially). Gareth
Von Kallenbach, our man with the connections, said so.
Moo.
More news. Gareth says location shoots next week'll be in
Port Moody and Port Coquitlam in Canada. And he mentioned
AvP2's being made out of Vancouver
Film Studios -- I'll check it out.
Update: Gareth says it's not actual filming yet, but establishing shots. That's the mix-up.

AvP2 Movie: Looking for Michael Jordan-Types Movie News | 9/27/2006 | 14:51 PST - David Shipley
Tall men; really tall men. They're already casting seven-foot-tall
man-monsters for the AvP2 movie, according to Hollywood
North Report. Which means, I guess, there's Predators
in it...?
Sh*t, someone bust out the Captain Obvious hat. Come on, where
is it.
Maybe if they really did cast Jordan...or gargantuan, nappy-dreaded,
hippie beast women (they wouldn't need the costume, so sweet).
Oh, and ladies -- I'm not tall (5'10), but, uh...I'm long.

Aliens Music Video ('Getting Away with Murder') Other News | 9/27/2006 | 10:38 PST - David Shipley
Like Papa Roach's "Getting Away with Murder"? It's
the song for this guy's Aliens
music video - mostly a collection of action scenes. So hard
rock's the way to go.
Let's see it
play.
Some would rather jam to the tune of Tupac and 50 Cent. I
agree - when the Alien gets the beat-down of his life from a
Smartgun, we'll say it pumped more bullets into him than Tupac
and 50 Cent combined.
Nothing. Thanks to Dayton
Gates (author) for the video.

Good News About AvP2 Movie (And Predator 3?) Movie News | 9/26/2006 | 10:02 PST - David Shipley
This is straight from the rumor mill, guys, so cool it. IESB.net
says they have someone in the AvP2 movie art department feeding
them details about the storyline (yeah, really). Guy says it's
gonna be way more like James Cameron's Aliens than AvP.
"The storyline heavily resembles more, say, Cameron's Aliens
than the first AvP film," this guy says. "I think
you'll be amazed at some of the new 'Alien' created for the
film too. The lead male character has got 'Dutch' gold written
all over him too. I think he'll be popular."
I get a little-kid boner just listening to that.
Now here's where it gets weird. He says his team's all finished
with AvP2, but there's word they're gonna be re-hired for the
"new Predator film." Even a rumor Sylvester Stallone
might star on it. (He's great and all, but I still have no f*cking
clue why he was in Spy Kids 3.)
Little bit unbelieveable, but man, that was fun to post. Here's
more details. Thanks to Conor for the tip!

Sci-Fi Book, With a Pinch of Alien Merchandise News | 9/26/2006 | 8:49 PST - David Shipley
There's a book called Future
Prime: The Top Ten Science Fiction Films, and (no surprise)
Alien's one of the top ten.
I think it's out already at this online
European bookstore. Thanks to Daniel Barge and alienscollection.com
for the tip.

ALP Web Comic: Slutty NYU Chicks Other News | 9/26/2006 | 8:49 PST - David Shipley
Make 'em feel special and they'll go to bed with you? Uh, no.
Make yourself special, dude. It's the "Prince Charming
Fantasy" -- like, wow, I should really give it up to this
guy. Then take them to the ball (i.e. your room) and make their
fantasy come true (i.e. humping the sh*t out of them).
College girls are different and--well, actually, I have no idea.
They're in today's Alien
Loves Predator, though.
My bud Andi says college girls exist purely to get drunk and
invite guys to count the hairs on their landing trip ("Sixty-eight
if you don't count the itty-bitty stubble-hairs!"). Today's
ALP might lend credence to the thrust of that argument.

[No Name] Map Preview Game News | 9/26/2006 | 8:49 PST - David Shipley
Admiral Sleffton's working on a map, but doesn't have a name
for it yet. Bummer.
Doesn't stop him from posting
ten screenshots on our Forums, though:
Great, great. Check
out all the screenshots.

Report: Filming Not Yet Started for AvP2 Movie Movie News | 9/25/2006 | 7:32 PST - David Shipley
Man, I should've posted this before the report on Variety
saying it'll start next week. Oh, well. Basically, our man with
the connections, Gareth
Von Kallenbach, says AvP2's Directory of Photography told
him filming hasn't started yet.
"Filming has not started yet and casting is being finalized
[oops]," Gareth says. "No details yet, but things
will kick into high gear in a few weeks."
Gareth also says he might visit the set soon. Stay tuned.

Lead Actors Revealed for AvP2 Movie Movie News | 9/25/2006 | 7:32 PST - David Shipley
According to Superhero
Hype!, the lead actors for AvP2 the movie are from
the show 24 and Rescue Me. You might know
'em -- Reiko Aylesworth and Steven Pasquale.
The girl's not so bad.
I'd hit it (the girl). I think she's played some supporting
roles in movies, too.
Here, here's
what they said:
"Reiko Aylesworth and
Steven Pasquale have been cast as the leads in 20th Century
Fox's Alien vs. Predator 2, which begins filming next week
in Vancouver, reports Variety.
"Greg and Colin Strause direct from a script by Armageddon
writer Shane Salerno. Davis Entertainment's John Davis and
Robbie Brenner are producing.
"Aylesworth, a former series regular on Fox's 24,
recently finished filming The Killing Floor, executive
produced by Avi Arad and Doug Liman, as well as a supporting
role in Mr. Brooks.
"Pasquale appears in the FX series Rescue Me. His
film credits include Aurora Borealis."
Hey, I can live with AvP2 like Armageddon. Right? You
can't expect too much. As long as it's a success.
Read
the report. Thanks to Mike and Daniel Hatch for the tip.

Homophobic Alien Loves Predator? Other News | 9/24/2006 | 12:02 PST - David Shipley
Not really. Alien
Loves Predator (this issue) is more 'bout how you can mistake
someone for a homophobe (or a racist). It's a good issue, really.
ALP has many sexually ambivalent supporters, too.
"Oh, thop it. Evybody loves ALP. Come on, let's party thometime
this willenium!" -- Clay Aiken
"ALP's bringing sexy back. Them other boys don't know how
to act gay--oops, I didn't mean that, really." -- Justin
Timberlake
With two guys like that behind your back (you'll be glad you
wore titanium undies?), no telling how far you can go. Visit
ALP.

Ultra-Violent 'A New Race' Web Comic Other News | 9/24/2006 | 12:02 PST - David Shipley
The A
New Race Web comic's pretty tame, right? Nothing really
bloody. It was still good; you could rate it "G" for
"genius!"
Okay, that was stupid. Besides, I think today's chapter'll shake
things up a bit.
Holy bloody stump for a head. Is that his vertebrae? I think
he'll miss that. Gonna rate this "R" for "really
bloody." Check
it out.

Preview 'Shots - ElectroTurd Game News | 9/22/2006 | 8:42 PST - David Shipley
Windebieste's working on a map called ElectroTurd.
Really - really, I'm serious. Description's worse: "...A
giant rotating piece of Alien excrement floating overhead that
shoots lethal lightning bolts at anyone - or anything - that
gets too close."
....Awesome?
Check
out the screenshots. And sorry, man, no turd jokes today.
Mom wants me to learn guitar, so I'm trying my 'guitar face'
- a look of concentration and focus, maybe pain...plus I really
need to go to the bathroom and drop the living bomb.

AvP2 Movie Delayed (In Germany) Movie News | 9/22/2006 | 8:42 PST - David Shipley
Oooh, bummer. Just two days after I posted Germany's AvP2 movie
release date of October 3rd, Fox's
German site changed it to December 27th, 2007.
And they were really mean about it, too.
Hanz Guderian, Fox PR Hamburg: "I mean,
come on, man! You fell for the oldest trick in the book. I cannot
believe you!"
So maybe I didn't really get that E-mail. But the date change
is real. Probably have a ripple effect on other countries' release
dates, too.
Thanks to Conor for the heads-up.
