Greetings:
Just wanted to give people an update on where things are. Work on the second patch is underway; we'll get you patch notes soon. Gameplay tweaks (balancing characters/skills/etc.) are not a priority item for this patch; we're focused on technical issues people are having with the game and the editor.
We're continuing to track all of the bug reports that people are posting to the forum. If we don't respond to your post specifically, that doesn't mean we aren't paying attention.
Also, a reminder that there is an extensive list of workarounds here:

One more note, for folks having connection issues in MP, keep in mind that the host machine needs to have as much upstream bandwidth as possible. The lowest levels of DSL service are only about twice the speed of a dial-up connection and won't necessarily support large sessions. Geographical distance can also increase latency, as can things like wireless connections, where your bandwidth is at the mercy of your signal strength. We're continuing to look into the router/connection issues, but it's worth mentioning.
Finally, those of you having troubles with quests being blocked, we are continuing to look into this. In the short term, try to talk to NPC's after you finish a quest, before teleporting back to town to sell loot or the like. And if you need to delete the latest .que files, you will also need to go back to the beginning of the quest and re-complete it in order to trigger the advancement option. Deleting the .myw files is a last resort, as it will erase all quest data for your character. And, if you're crashing repeatedly in the same location as you try to complete a quest, you may need to delete the "fow" folder in order to advance.
We will continue to track these and the other issues people are having, and we will let you know as soon as we can what fixes are going into the next patch.
With eight different skill masters and a great number of options of play within each skill set, and lets not forget being able to pick a secondary master, if the online community can last I can see this game lasting as long as Diablo 2 (I still play it once in awhile). The drawback to the replay value is that the game has fixed maps. What this means is that if you play this game multiple times you will see the same map each time, letting you quickly memorize where everything is, thankfully the world is so big that for you to memorize the entire game would take a long time.
A collection of patches that can be used indivually or together. Included are:
* Infinite Potion Stacking - self explanatory
* Show All Damage - shows all damage, not just criticals
* Flying Bodies - makes dead bodies fly further.
* Rockin' Criticals - makes screen shake on critical hits. The more powerful the hit, the harder the screen shakes.
The purpose of this mod is to assist with skipping difficulty levels you find boring, but allowing you to be at a survivable (but low) level for that difficulty, and have the additional inventory bags you would have earned.
Upon entry, the mod awards the following depending on difficulty level chosen:

The game itself is linear, but absolutely massive. The main quest alone will set you back 40 hours. Battling through the game and taking on the powerful enemies is fun in itself, but it's made all the more enjoyable if played with friends. You can play Titan Quest with up to six other players in cooperative mode, although you still need to beat the game on Normal mode to go Epic, and Epic to play Legendary. The great thing about multiplayer is that you play the single player story as a party. No unique characters to make and no limit as to what you can and can't do. So you can jump into multiplayer with two other players, finish a few quests, save, and then jump back into single player just where you left off! Unfortunately, the co-op multiplayer implementation is rather basic. Iron Lore have decided not to include closed servers and the multiplayer is met with a number of slow downs during matches (Ed.note: I recommend you to turn graphics effects off).
Just wanted to give a quick shout out and let everyone know that we are working on the next patch. The crash issues are still on the top of our list and we are working closely with several members of the community in trying to reproduce these porblems in our labs so we can get them fixed. We also have some fixes going into the editor for the next patch as well.
I don't have a date for anyone at this time but I will post that information as well as some preliminary patch notes as I get them.
A lot of people in the community have been asking how TQ has been selling and while we dont have any of the official sales figures yet I can say that GameSpot had reported us as the #3 seller in the US for the week of June 25th, and I have heard rumor that we hit #1 in Germany and Spain and I beleive we were in the top 10 in the UK as well!!
We also just wrapped up work on a few beginner tutorial videos for the editor. I dont have the details on their release yet, but if you are thinking about trying out the editor but are intimidated by all the documentation - these will definately get you off the ground and running. More details coming soon!
Also a bunch of us Dev types just did a Dev Chat on Xfire last night. Y'all can read the transcript here :
Oh, and the talented and very busy folks over at GameBanshee.com just put together a walkthrough up to eqypt containing maps of all the levels. Check that out here:
Load up Get It All, get instant level 65 and all epic/legendary items are lying around for the taking.. Use SoulSeekkor's Defiler to transfer back your custom character to singleplayer and keep playing..
Gamezilla Review[ Comment ] Print News | Mail News Scoring 26/32 and earning a "fans only" rating, GameZilla has posted their review of Titan Quest. Citing gameplay bugs and missing features as holding the game back from greatness, the reviewer said:
Besides the straightforward gameplay approach, what holds it back is probably more nits then anything else. For instance, the mouse cursor not scrolling the map took some getting used to but other then the flow of the game slowing down every now and then, theres little to gripe about.
If youre waiting for me to tell you Titan Quest does anything particularly unique, well, go read that part at the beginning about Diablo again. On the other hand, Diablo 2 looks absolutely butt-ugly compared to Titan Quest, which yields some of the best looking top-down 3D vistas to date. Multi-source soft-shadows, high-dynamic range lighting (or bloom effects that look just as good), foliage that rustles as you stride through itwere not talking Pixar quality or anything, but definitely a step up from Dungeon Siege 2. That said, youd best have a beastly rig to run with bells and whistles on full or when the screen plugs up with enemies.
The tool allows recovery of 1.08 character files (Custom Quest or Singleplayer/Main Quest) and allows transfer of characters from custom quest to singleplayer.
Following in the footsteps of its forefathers, Titan Quest holds to a formula of locales, of stats and skills, and of destruction. Yet somehow at the same time, it has escaped that formula set down so long ago in many ways. The game offers a hell of a lot of fun, and with a very different enemy than we're used to seeing. With eight interesting classes and the ability to multiclass, plus dozens of hours of fun this is a title worth recommending to anyone still silently hoping for Diablo III.
Gaming Illustrated: 94% The game invariably will be compared to the all-time popular title Diablo 2, since the game acts, plays, and moves in a very similar fashion. Is that a bad thing? Heck no! Titan Quest feels like the latest and greatest to be sure with the awesome graphics...
Last but not least, Voodoo Extreme weighs in with an 8.6/10.00:
Visually, Titan Quest is a marvel. The art direction is unbelievably good and you can really tell where the money went in that regard. Each region has its own distinctive flavor and it gets better as the game progresses. The combat animation is really good (especially the dual-wielding styles) and, overall, if your system can handle it, the graphics are really impressive. The graphics are a bit dull in the beginning of the game, but they get progressively better as time goes on. By the end, my head was about to explode.
