Poll of the Week

A Word from Spiff

OK. I've heard the arguments. Americans don't "get" soccer -- err, Football -- for (insert reason here). It's boring. There's not enough scoring. It's not "manly" enough (usually an argument made by someone who's never delivered a swift cleat to someone's groin ... but I digress). Whatever. I for one have come down with World Cup fever this week. I and a few very vocal co-workers can usually be found gathered around the big TV in our office break room, screaming at the refs every time a crucial call gets blown.

Of course, the "not for prime time" status of the sport here in the US, coupled with the fact that most matches are played "live" during the wee morning hours has made it tough for us few, proud football fans to catch all but a couple of minutes of action each day. No worries - FilePlanet's got you covered Check out the Footy @ FilePlanet page today for an archive of game downloads inspired by the world's most popular sport. Email Me

City of Villains 17-Day Trial

Any number have games have tried to put you in the shoes (or boots, rather) of superheroes, with varying degrees of non-success. For the longest time "superhero" was an adjective that came between "failed" and "RPG." Many thought it was a curse -- but all it really took was one game to get it right. City of Heroes delivered a near-perfect mix of hero development, action and a compelling world / storyline. The result? A successful superhero MMORPG.

Now, NCSoft has taken the next step with the game's follow-up: City of Villains gives you the chance to play the monologue delivering, island-lair owning diabolical super bad guy. Want superheroes -- or superfoes -- done right? Check out FilePlanet's 17-Day Trial of City of Villains. Download the full COV client now and check the game out for free for nearly 3 weeks!
