Will Smith Battles Undead

IGN FilmForce is reporting that a new adaptation of I Am Legend is going ahead again, and this time none other than Will Smith is set to star.

Based on a classic science fiction novel by Richard Matheson, I Am Legend is the story of the last man on earth left after a plague kills most of humanity and leaves the rest as zombies. By day, he hunts and kills the undead, who shun the light; by night, he barricades himself in his home while vengeful mobs gather outside.

scifi.com is reporting that Joel Gretsch, who plays federal agent Tom Baldwin on USA Network's SF series The 4400, told SCI FI Wire that his character gets pushed to the limits in the upcoming third season.

Mike Myers in 'How To Upstage A Robot Rising'

moviehole.net is reporting that Mike Myers will star in “How to Upstage a Robot Rising”, a comedy based on a manual written by Daniel H. Wilson, a doctoral candidate at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University.

In it, Myers will play a technical administrator who has the unrewarding job of sounding warnings against the increasing existence of robots, and is always trying to find ways how to prevent said robots from taking over.

Brad Wright Speculates On 'SG-1' Future

gateworld.net now has up an article with executive producer Brad Wright as he talks about the future of Stargate: SG-1.

'Stargates' Return July 14

gateworld.net is reporting that Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis will return with new episodes on July 14, according to the June 2006 issue of SciFi Magazine (the official magazine of The SCI FI Channel). With the premiere SCI FI Friday anchor show Battlestar Galactica being pushed back to October, the shows will also return to their 2004 timeslots.

Stargate SG-1 will premiere with "Flesh and Blood" at 9 p.m. Eastern/Pacific. "No Man's Land" will kick off the third season for Stargate Atlantis at 10 p.m.

'Lost' Star Pleads Guilty to DUI

zap2it.com is reporting that Michelle Rodriguez, a star of ABC's hit series "Lost," has pleaded guilty to DUI in Hawaii and will serve a brief jail sentence for the offense.

Judge James Dannenburg gave Rodriguez a choice between a five-day jail sentence or 240 hours of community service. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin reports the actress opted for the jail time and was to return to the courthouse Tuesday afternoon to be taken into custody. She'll receive credit for the time she served following her arrest.
