Written by Stiles White and his wife, Juliet Snowden, the same duo behind Alexandre Aja’s upcoming film "The Waiting" and Alex Proyas’ "Knowing", the film was just accepted by the Newport Beach Flm Festival, where it will make its debut on April 21st at 9:30pm.

This Week, Wear A Red Hoody To Help Raise Awareness

For those of you keeping up with the latest news, you know that, recently, there have been a wide variety of child pornography charges coming in from across the country. Last week, Lionsgate started a wonderful campaign called "Wear Red", a movement for online empowerment and awareness, inspired by the film "Hard Candy" and its protagonist’s red hoody. It asks that you wear a red hoody to stand up for online safety and against internet violence! This is a fantastic way to show your support for what Lionsgate is trying to do and help raise awareness for this very serious issue.

David Slade's film "Hard Candy" is the tale of an unwise cat-and-mouse romance between a teenage girl and an older man that begins on the Internet.

'X' Marks The Spot For Remake of Corman Classic

Fangoria.com reports that Columbia Pictures has its sights set on a remake of a 1963 Roger Corman classic entitled "X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes".

In the original, Ray Milland played the titular X (Dr. Xavier, to be more specific), a scientist who goes to desperate extremes and tests an eye serum on himself that gives him the power of x-ray vision. It’s a fascinating advantage at first, as Xavier is able to see through walls, clothes and other items, but things get freaky when he begins seeing things far more terrifying. Don Rickles co-starred in this Robert Dillon-scripted film.

POLL: Future Horror Remake That Angers You Most

In our last poll, you were asked to vote on which future horror remake angers you the most. I know it was tough, but someone had to come out on top... err, bottom. So, which film is it? Let's find out:

Future Horror Remake That Angers You Most

The Evil Dead
235 -- 62.3%
The Last House on the Left
29 -- 7.7%
Black Christmas
28 -- 7.4%
The Wolf Man
27 -- 7.2%
The Wicker Man
26 -- 6.9%
The Creature From the Black Lagoon
23 -- 6.1%
Other (Discuss)
9 -- 2.4%

"The Evil Dead" is our winner! ...Oh who the hell are we kidding? There is no winner here! We don't want to see ANY of these films get remade. Instead of voting on which film we would hate to see "re-envisioned", perhaps we should have had a poll on which form of mutilation would be most appropriate to bestow upon the jackasses who even thought of remaking these films. But please, for now, put away the axes and knives... for safety's sake, and then cast your vote in this week’s poll.

'BUBBA NOSFERATU': The Return of The King, Baby!

IFMagazine.com is reporting that while attending the "Masters of Horror" Season 2 Launch Party in Hollywood, they managed to catch up with Don Coscarelli and they were surprised to learn that he would not be involved with the second season of "Masters". Fear not though, he did have a very good reason for not being available, a little movie he is working on called "Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires".

“It’s going to star Bruce Campbell again, and he’s going to put on the old sequined jump suit," says Coscarelli. "It looks like it could be pretty interesting.” Obviously, from that comment, Campbell’s Elvis survived the first movie, and Coscarelli laughingly added, “ Who said he died? He’s not dead. It’s the magic of movies, we’ll resuscitate him some how.”

Zombie Concept Art For 'CHILDREN' Remake

Joblo.com now has up some of the zombie concept art from Wicked EFX, who have been hired by Bob Clark to work on the remake of "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things".

Takashi Miike Leaves His 'IMPRINT' On DVD

Scifi.com is reporting that Producers of Showtime's "Masters of Horror" anthology series told SCI FI Wire that the controversial episode "Imprint" by Japanese director Takashi Miike is on the DVD, unchanged from the way the director made it.

The producers added that they understood Showtime's hesitation to run the bloody one-hour episode. "Now that the government is thinking about examining the standards and practices of premium cable, I can see that Showtime didn't want to go there," said Industry Entertainment's Keith Addis. "They didn't want to pour jet fuel on the fire. If you see the episode, there'll be no doubt in your mind why it wasn't put on the air. You'd probably do the same thing."

Atmosphere and Story Will Make 'COLD FEAR' A Hot Film

Variety.com is reporting that Avatar Films and Sekretagent Prods. have optioned bigscreen rights to survival horror game "Cold Fear" from developer Darkworks and publisher Ubisoft.

It's an unusual license, since "Cold Fear" didn't sell well to gamers. But producers are betting that the scary atmosphere and compelling story -- a Coast Guard Officer trying to reconnect with his daughter is adrift on a whaling ship infested with aliens -- will translate well as a horror film.
