Our affiliate over at TeamXbox have gotten the chance to play ToCA Race Driver 3 and they give us an exclusive firsthand look at the game. Here's a taste:
Sure, youll still have access to the famous DTM TC series, the Aussie V8 supercars, and the British GT Championship thats the foundation of this franchise, but thats not nearly all. Building upon their knowledge of rally game creation (Colin McRae is one of the better rally franchises on the market), Codemasters has included the point-to-point stuff in ToCA Race Driver 3, further adding to this series breadth. A bevy of open-wheel classifications are in ToCA Race Driver 3 too, including Formula Ford, Formula 1000, and Formula 3.
College Hoops 2K6 Review
11:46 | by Evan
Right stick faking, spinning, and ankle-breaking, we hardly knew ye. It seems like just yesterday that gamers were introduced to the idea of funky player control using the right analog stick. Few games didn't latch onto the idea. Michael Vick juked his way around defenders as though they were mannequins, Allen Iverson's crossovers set-up easy drives to the net, and Mary Kate was able to quickly scoot around her equally cute sister, Ashley, all thanks to the right stick.
Earlier this fall, 2K Sports bagged all those right stick hijinks in its NBA 2K6 release, turning the nub into a no-nonsense Shot Stick that let you control how you put the ball in the net. Now the college game gets a crack at the new stick in College Hoops 2K6. While it may take some getting used to for veteran video ballers, the learning curve is more than worth dealing with. Like its NBA big brother, this one is a powerhouse. Head on over to GameSpy for our in-depth review.
Fight Night Round 3 Preview
11:45 | by Evan
Boxing video games sure have come a long way from the days of knocking out Glass Joe and Piston Honda in Mike Tyson's Punch Out. While early titles focused more on arcade-style action (complete with over-the-top casts of characters), the genre has recently seen a move toward a much more realistic style of play. This emphasis on substance over style began with EA's Knockout Kings, but it wasn't until the release of Fight Night 2004 that we really got to see a game that came closer to recreating the look and feel of the sweet science than any that came before it.
Now, we're inching closer to the next entry in the series, the aptly titled Fight Night Round 3, a title that looks to put all of its challengers down for the count. Check out our complete preview.
