Stupid Letters
Read 'em and weep.
Best of the Best
I agree with many of your titles. However, how can you forget Darkhorse's few Flagship titles in a Non-Marvel and DC universe? I speack of Hellboy and the BPRD. Hellboy's exploits and the further adventures of the BPRD are really good with characters that go beyond what the Movie showed us.
Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman, Roger the Golem, and Johann make excellent reading. I dare you to pick up the BPRD trade of Plague of Frogs and tell me otherwise.
- Neil
I would hardly call Hellboy: The Island one of the best series of the year. I love Hellboy, but that was not that great of a mini. As for BPRD, I enjoy that series as well. But, ultimately, I had to ruin someone's Christmas and I chose to ruin yours.

Mooooore!
Regarding your Top Ten Villainous Moments in Comics, I am very surprised to see that you did not include the infamous issue of Miracleman #15 "Nemesis" by Alan Moore in which While waiting for his battle with Miracleman, Kid Miracleman decides to kill time by attacking London. When he's exhausted the repetoire of human cruelties, he starts inventing new ones. A few hours later he's killed forty thousand people.
We see people running from a rain of severed arms and legs, skins hung up on clotheslines, decapitated heads everywhere, mutilated children wandering screaming through the streets, bodies upon bodies upon bodies. When our five heroes arrive, having been frolicking on the satellite while all this was happening, they find him standing in a lake of blood. "At last," he says, "Really, what must one do to get attention around here?"

Isn't it obvious? I'm an idiot. Oh, and I wanted to talk about books people could actually have some prayer of finding in their lifetime.

Bloody Worst
How come Vampirilla is not on the list?
While Vampire movies tend to suck, there are exceptions, Vampirilla was bad even by those standards.
- abood
There was a Vampirella movie? Holy crap! I'm hunting this one down for the holidays. Schwing!

Isolationism
Did you guys hear that there are comics produced in other countries? I'm surprised 2000ad didn't get a look in - they have run storylines like Necropolis and Judgement Day (Judge Dredd) with death tolls in the tens of millions and billions respectively. And they're not just 'evil' because of the sheer numbers involved - they have a darker and possibly more mature realisation than a lot of the spam produced by DC/Marvel/and the like...
- Billy
Hah. Like people in other countries can read. Nice try, buddy!

Vote Count
Ok, just making a comment about the Joker blwoing up Jason Todd. You might want to check the factoid about the vote being ballanced for but 100 votes or so. I could have sworn i read that the votes to kill of Jason Todd was into the thousands over those that wanted to keep him alive, and that was mostly because readers found him a bad character.
Now i could be very wrong about this, but i at least thought it fair to suggest checking it out a second time.
- Magnus
You are very wrong about this. The vote totals (which are very close for saving Todd's life) are printed in the A Death in the Family TPB.

MIA Babe
I love your comic babes catfight... but you left out one of the most important contenders...
RED MONIKA from Joe Madureira's "Battle Chasers"
Sure... she's not mainstream, but I definately think she'd give some of these other comic hotties a run for their money.
Otherwise... the whole thing is great.
Keep up the good work
- NICKDD
We didn't forget Red Monika. She's going to be showing up on the poll in about seven or eight months, once she's back from delay.

What About Earth-Prime?!
After the First Crisis I stopped reading DC Comics. I didn't like the changes in the characters and the got rid of my favorite rid of some of my favorite characters in the DCU.
Well after a number of years they seem to be sucking me in with the possibility that Earth 2 will return. I used to love Huntress and Robin of Earth 2 stories (remember batman and catwoman's daughter, not the crappy re-invention without a soul or morals). Also, I love Power Girl as a real Kryptonian (love the symbioship stories in the original Showcase mag) and lets not forget all star squadron with wonder woman superman and batman. The reinvented SQUADRON SUCKS..
Wonder Woman deserves to be a loving female character again. She deserves a Steve Trevor, not some rip off of the Zena show..
I would like to see earth 2 stories return with no links to earth 1, keep it's history separate, make it a pocket universe if you have to. I like the Golden Age heroes and their storylines better. I think it's possible to still have that and have insightful comics of today.
I hope DC returns Earth 2. If they do I will start buying all there magazines like I used to.
- Don Burnett
(Possibly the only Earth-2 fan out there)
I'm sure there's another Earth-2 fan out there. Maybe you could meet and fall in love and have little baby Earth-2s. That would be cute. But yes, Wonder Woman needs an overhaul. Hopefully not one that gets her dead though.

Babe for Life
Thank God you didn't pick Emma Frost! I love blondes, but Pamala Anderson with evil mutant powers can go only so far. I love your choice! Nothing says twisted hot sex like a vampire in a T-Back! The perfect match of sex and death! First she'll screw you, then suck your blood in extacy. Horror, fantasy, and porn all in one. That is Vampirella. My runner up would by Red Sonya, I got a thing for chicks in chainmail.
- Josh
I (and many horndogs) believe Emma to be quite the fetching comic-book babe. But Vampirella. I mean, put a hot girl in that costume and it's over.

Where is the Hate?
hey hil,
i just read some of the mail sections on other parts of IGN (nameley the DVD section) and it seems the quality of hate mail here in comic-book world is...well...lacking.
I mean, I know we dive you nuts, but thier hate mail is just vicious. I mean, man, I'm just depressed. We're getting out-geeked here. Next thing you know we'll go get girlfriends and have social lives.
what a world.
-rob chamness
Agreed. Not enough people want me dead. But don't worry, I'm certain you will never get a girlfriend.
