So Many Ways to Do the Same Thing
Hey Matt,
When playing RE4, I had the same problem that you had when battling the two El Gigantes in the lava room. However, I managed to kill the second one with firepower. I was very close to being deplenished of ammo completely when he died. My brother was the one who clued me in to the "back stabbing" context sensitive action. Anywho, I just wanted to spread more RE4 love, since this game has got to be the most exciting and gorgeous game on any system in a while.
Goodbye,
~Grant
Matt responds: Yeah, it's pretty crazy when you think about it. There are so many different ways to play the game and to tackle challenges. In reading the boards, I'm positive that some people have yet to discover, for instance, that Leon can perform a suplex. Except, they do now because I spoiled it! Ahahahahahahamamamamauahahalololololololo!11111 Meh.
Didn't See That Coming
Spoilers. Spoilers. Spoilers. I don't know if anyone else has found out about this. Before you do battle with creature from the lake (Del Lago) stand at the edge of the dock. I don't know if you have to shoot into the water or not, but after about 1 min the creature will swallow you whole right off the dock. It will make you jump!
Matt responds: Hah! Are you serious? I will have to go back and try that tonight. Thanks for the tip. Hilarious.
More from Nintendo
Hey Matt, hell of a site you guys got goin, but down to business. If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo announced the SP and Nitro in the last week of January 2 and 1 years ago. Are you expecting any big news, like on the revolution or anything, from Nintendo or would the 3 new games recently announced count as their January news? Thanks for your time.
Matt responds: I don't expect any major announcements in January. But I think we'll see something new from the company at the Game Developers Conference in March. Nintendo has historically usually come to the conference with some kind of software display. Perhaps we'll catch a preview of its Q1/Q2 lineup.
Zelda
I just wanted to say I'm shocked about the june 1st release of zelda for GCN. It just seems so soon. I'm thrilled, don't get me wrong but I can't help but be skeptical that there might be a delay. I mean, nintendo's not one to rush such a blockbuster. I was kind of curious if there has been any word on how long exactly it's been in production and if I should abandon my feelings that it might be delayed.
Matt responds: I think we just list the game in June because that's Juan's favorite month, but I highly doubt Zelda will ship anytime before the holiday season. This is bound to be the biggest game of the year on Nintendo's platform and likely one of the most popular titles on any system. Nintendo will wait for the holidays and get the most out of it. But to answer your question, this new Zelda has been in development for a long time. Some say as far back as 2001 and others believe shortly after work on Wind Waker was completed. Regardless, it will have enjoyed a chunky sized development cycle by the time the game is released and you will play it with tears streaming down your cheeks, as it should be.
