September 14, 2004 - Square Enix will release Dragon Quest VIII to Japan on November 27 of this year, the upcoming issue of Japan's Jump Magazine is set to reveal. Square Enix itself has yet to make official comment on the matter, but as this title is likely to be its biggest since Dragon Quest VII, we expect a full press release shortly.

This November date seems to end speculation concerning the game's release date. People associated closely with the project have hinted at a release before the end of the year, but an apparent no-show at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show caused worries.

We're still not sure if Square Enix will show the game at TGS, but if it's there you can bet we'll have a full report.

Dragon Quest VII's stateside release has yet to be finalized.
