September 01, 2004 - Ubisoft sent out official word today that what was previously known only as Prince of Persia 2 (a title already claimed by the original PC game's sequel, way back when), is now officially titled Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

The official name reflects the Prince's growth from rather naive young fighter to a seasoned, darker warrior. Indeed, from all we've seen so far, the official sequel to The Sands of Time is much more moody and dark: a change in style we embrace heartily.

"He's not the young, inexperienced Prince he was on his first adventure," commented Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. "He is now a warrior of unmatched skills, with a dark heart and a penchant for pain. Knowing his fated death is imminent, the Prince must summon the powers within him to defend what no enemy can take away -- his life."

The official sequel to one of last year's most accomplished titles is still expected to arrive this November for GameCube, PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. And of course, keep your eyes here for all the good news as it comes in.
