I've said before that HaloPlanet has interesting times coming. We like Halo-fans to be able to check the latest Halo-news no matter where they are on the planet and wheter or not they have a computer nearby. Therefor we are now launching "HaloPlanet WAP". A free wap-site that you can access in your cellphone by typing in "www.haloplanet.com/wap/index.wml" in your wap-browser. On this wap-site we will offer the latest news, Halo 2 updates downloadable content such as background-images and screenshots and a whole lot more. Right now we have the latest Halo 2 update on the site expect a lot more to be available in the next few days. Weekly Update here at HaloPlanet

It's September 3rd, and that means it's time for Halo Babies news. Leading off is a new comic, and five new backgrounds for fan strips which, amazingly, are original works and not screenshots. They have to be seen to be believed. Also, for sponsors only so pony up you leeches, there's a series of "behind-the-scenes" videos of there adventures to, in, and around Seattle. Hilarity likely ensues, as it is wont to do. Thanks to mrsmiley for putting this shining beacon of non-Viagra-spam in my inbox! New Halo2 Hands-on at GameSpy.com

Winds of change at the 7th Column.

The 7th column is going to get a big overhaul. It will go down on Sept. 7th (of course it's going down on the 7th) and then get back up 1-2 weeks later. They are doing this overhaul due to the increasing members at Bungie.net and to prepare for the future. Give the whole news-post a read. Thanks to Arteen in our forums for pointing this out. Welcome PlanetNile to the network.

Plantronics Headset

Plantronics is releasing a new, Halo 2-themed headset for Xbox Live that is both stylish and NASA-approved. (At any rate, I can't find why NASA would disapprove of this headset. My pajamas, also, are NASA-approved.) See a picture here, and pre-order here. The pre-order price is fifty smackers, but halo.bungie.org suggests it might retail for less at retail. I'll be picking one up, since I'm in the market for a headset anyway. You might want to, too. A Chat With Pete Parsons

HBO points a finger (one of the good ones) towards a short, sweet interview with GameDaily about Halo 2 and the future of the game industry. I think Parsons is off on the latter, subject, though. It's clear to me that the future of gaming is the lucrative Leisure Suit Larry franchise. ;) Comic for 9|1|04

Nightmare Armor is back on the web after some downtime, and you'll be able to find them at Dragon*Con. (As well as on Rove Live, apparently. Leave it to Aussies to turn a talk show into a cosplay event.) Thanks to Louis Wu for pointing this out. Japan release-date announced

The Canada.com has gotten a sneak Peek at Halo 2.Not sure if there is anything new (haven't been keeping up on everything myself) but it's worth a read just to see what our neighbors to the north think about it. Canada.com has a nice, two page Halo 2 article up, including an interesting screenshot at the top with a view of the Covenant beam rifle. They also have a piece on the Canadian volunteers in the Bungie Army. From Down Under, the Sydney Roosters rugby team has enlisted some new coaching help. Thanks to HBO for the heads-up. It's time to introduce you all to our second hosted site, "Halo Battlecanyon". This site features a map that is currently being made called "Battlecanyon" and will also in the future feature other maps made by the "Halo Heaven"-team. These guys don't only do maps/mods, they are also in the works of releasing tutorials on how to mod/map Halo. We will of course cover all their progress but you should drop by their site now and then and take a look at their updates. Give them a warm welcome to the HaloPlanet Family. Tuesday, August 31, 2004

As many of us know multiple prospects of Halo 2 are beginning to disappear into thin air as displayed by today's One One Se7en. Will Stuntmutt ever give the fellas' at Bungie a break? I certainly hope not. Falling Tru7h

The Comet of New Grounds has released the newest Halo Parody featuring the original Halo 2 trailer. I'd have to say this is one of the more realistic flash videos ;). Buying Halo 2 cases on eBay.

Sue Brennan sent me an email about someone selling a Halo2 Limited Edition and a Halo2 regular case. It's just the boxes so they don't contain the game. The question is if he's actually got the boxes either, it's not the first time someone claiming to have Halo2-stuff that they want to sell on eBay. Well if you are interested in taking a look then here's the link. Sunday, August 29, 2004

Goweb of Tru7h has composed a contest involving the Bungie Web Master whom like Viper attempts to bash any illiterate, ignorant n00b that comes his way. The rules are simple - email the Webmaster ([email protected]) and the email that receives the best reply, that is, the funniest will win a mystery prize. So drop any grammar and spelling skillz you may possess and get 'crackin! 05:55 PST | Fluffy
GameStyle Offline has a preview of Halo 2 in their latest issue. Matthew Cox from GameStyle sent this email to me a couple of days ago but since I had to clean my computer from viruses this email was left behind for a couple of days. You can download the whole preview in a pdf-document by following this link. Saturday, August 28, 2004
