Plenty of Punishments Comment!

Previously on the Mailbag: It was asked what punishment would be befitting of those people (should they be found) responsible for the recent delays. You responded, as you all tend to do when we propose questions like this... which, barring unforseen circumstances, is generally once a week. That's also roughly how often we post the answers - and the answers to the answers - in what we call this week's edition.

And now the continuation...

Lionhead Recruits Comment!

Lionhead Studios and the Lionhead satellite Intrepid Computer Entertainment Ltd keeps recruiting talented new people for their projects, and though the position as animator is taken you can still apply for other positions within the company.
Games Designer Apprentice
Following the success of the last design apprentice Lionhead is looking for 2 design apprentices willing to work hard, with good writing and organisational skills, knowledge of programming beneficial but not necessary.

Working along side Peter Molyneux, the job would involve working on the design of many projects at Lionhead. Would suit someone who wants to break into the games industry.
So, what are you waiting for? Check out the Lionhead Studios website and read more about it there. Now.

B&W; Straight Up Comment!

Sometimes you stumble on articles that makes you realise just how lucky you are to be one of those who actually enjoys the extremely complex and difficult game Black & White. Might I add, with less sarcasm, that some articles makes it itch in the old "slap the Creature-hand"? Like this one, from Straight.com for example.
Most of all, what made Black & White successful enough to deserve a sequel is the originality of its concept. You could quibble that the creatures are hard to train or that there's too much village management to do, but the freedom of action you're allowed within these mythical worlds is astonishing. And somewhat unpredictable. At one point, I wanted my ape to learn how to dance (because it will then entertain and impress the citizens), so I kept ordering it to go over and watch the villagers, who were busy dancing around a boulder I'd placed in the town square. (Their devotion eventually turns it into a religious artifact.) In an effort to keep the ape from wandering off, I tried to leash it to the boulder, but my merest touch cracked the rock in half, seriously freaking out the townsfolk and making them run away, screaming. Sure, I had to restore from a saved game, but the look on their faces was worth it.
Doesn't that just compell you to play the game for a while? Don't you feel the magic?

Delayed Pleasure Comment!

This week's edition of the Mailbag, is in fact last week's edition. It's worse than the twilight zone or some form of bizarre internet rerun, it's a delay. Let's be frank; this edition is a week late. I could tell you that there have been rampant email problems affecting just about every member of the staff recently, Mr Mailbag included. This would not only be highly convenient, it would also be the truth. And every time it seems like the problems are over, again they resurge. I can't promise that next week's edition will be here next week. I can promise that we'll do our best to make it happen.

All the same, you can see the latest edition by clicking that link about five or so words back. You can also write to us at the usual address, about the latest topic. You could also juggle flaming wombats in slow motion, but I can't guarantee this site will publish anything related to that in the near future. Alas.
