AO Anniversary was a smash hit!! |
| |
Posted by Tarryk @ Wed 30 June, 2004 | 01:30 (01:30AM) |
We still have many extra servers up, as you can see by the tune-in links above, and we will retain them for a few weeks at least.
The party was a success of such proportions that we could not have previously imagined! Props go out to every single member of GridStream Productions for putting so much time and effort into making this the greatest Internet Radio hosted party EVER thrown in the history of MMORPGs! Equal props to all of our listeners for supporting GridStream through what has been rightfully recognized as the toughest event we've ever helped to organize and deliver!
Streaming to well over one thousand listeners simultaneously during the party, we gave away more loot than any one of us has ever seen in our virtual lives on Anarchy Online, and with minimal-to-nonexistent technical problems! I can only see this smash hit of a weekend-long party as a blessing from whatever higher consciousness you feel fit to give credit to. :)
Thank you everyone for the support! GridStream is hitting it's peak, on an epic scale, and Anarchy Online's 3rd year in existence is already proving to be it's best yet!
h00t h00t!!

AO 3rd Anniversary! |
| |
Posted by Xtrophic @ Sat 26 June, 2004 | 16:13 (04:13PM) |
Servers During the AO 3rd anniversary GSP will have extended listener cap to support the highly increased listener count. So far we have added 4 more high quality servers, but more are coming tomorrow as the event continues on RK1 (Atlanteen) if the need arises. So if the stream caps out early, wait a little bit and more servers will be coming up along the way.
RK2 - Rimor RK2 was a smash hit, breaking records all over the place such as the highest listener count for GSP and as well as most packed playfields in AO. The parade that was supposed to happen had to be cancelled due to the simple fact; there were too many people attending, or trying to attend.
Thank you! We at GSP would like to thank FunCom for letting us be official radio for this awesome event, and for allowing us to get more servers up (yay you FunCom!) so that more of you could tune in. We would also like to thank all of you players out there who attended the event on RK2 and made it the smash hit it was. I would personally like to thank the crew at GSP as well who did a most excellent job organizing the event together with FunCom/ARK, and to our DJ's who kept the stream filled with music and announcing the contests.
Tomorrow I hope to see more of you on Atlanteen as the party continues in the evening GMT. But for those of you who are still in the party mood I am hearing rumours that the party is still going on somewhere on Rimor *wink* :) Remember that there are more prices going out tomorrow, so make sure you tune in!

Low QL Server More Stable |
| |
Posted by Tarryk @ Mon 12 April, 2004 | 16:37 (04:37PM) |
Starting tonight, 12 April 2004 at around 9pm EDT/0100 GMT (13 Apr), the "Low QL" server should become more stable for those who need that to listen.
We are installing a new method to transcode the Low QL relay directly to live365. While this new method is by no means a "perfect" method (since there really isn't such a thing yet), we have tested it many times in the past and it seems to be the most efficient and stable way to simulcast the stream into a lower bitrate for dialup listeners.
If you have any problems with the "Low QL" stream from that time forward, please feel free to contact myself (Tarryk) or any other member of GridStream Productions on-world in Anarchy Online (http://www.anarchy-online.com) (RK1-Atlantean) and we will attempt to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
I hope this proves advantageous to everyone, and that the previous inconsistancies with the lowbit relay will smooth themselves out with this new system. h00t h00t!!

Epicine's Brain Explodes |
| |
Posted by Tarryk @ Tue 16 March, 2004 | 18:46 (06:46PM) |
Earlier this morning, the spectacular and rare phenomenon known as "Instantaneous Inner-Cranial Omni-Directional Osmosis" occured immediately following a statement made by Tarryk Kozar of GridStream Productions when he proclaimed to Epicine "You know, I think you should quit drinking."
Apparently unable to retain the amount of information neccessary to assimilate such a concept, Epicine's brain matter was instantaneously distributed in all directions as his head literally exploded with the kinetic force of a small concussion grenade.
Tarryk, after several moments of standing silently, drenched in atroxian skull-and-brain goo, was quoted on his appraisal of the scene as saying "omgyuck." How it was pronounced is still being debated on by other witnesses.
Epicine was found later at a backyard insurance terminal, reclaiming his possessions. He had no memory of the incident, and swiftly killed the on-scene reporter because "it looked like fun".
